Job summary

OTTO Health Care invites skilled Operating Room Assistants to join one of the Netherlands' leading hospitals in Rotterdam. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthesia teams, nurses and OR staff, performing circulating and scrubbing duties and preparing theatres.

Full-time 36 hours per week under CAO, with a permanent contract after CZO recognition; salary between €3,858 and €5,647 gross per month plus 8.3% end-of-year bonus and 8% holiday allowance. Driving license is a nice-to-have.

Qualifications

• Qualified/Certificate as Operating Room Assistant or Surgical Technologist.
• Experience circulating, assisting, and instrumenting.
• Experience supporting low-to high-complex surgical procedures.
• English proficiency minimum B1.
• Willing to learn Dutch to B2 level or higher.
• Professional, independent and committed to ongoing learning.
• Prioritize patient care and deliver high-quality nursing care.
• Assertive and curious attitude.
• Willing to work and live in the Netherlands.

Your job

As an Operating Room Assistant, you play a crucial role within the surgical team. You will work closely with surgeons, anaesthesia teams, nurses and fellow OR staff.

Your responsibilities include:

• Performing circulating, scrub, and assisting duties
• Preparing the operating theatre, equipment, and materials
• Supporting surgeries ranging from low-to high-complex procedures
• Ensuring sterile techniques, patient safety, and procedural quality
• Working in a multidisciplinary, highly technical environment

What do we ask from you?

Required

• A completed qualification / Certificate as an Operating Room Assistant / Surgical Technologist
• Proven experience in circulating, assisting, and instrumenting
• Experience supporting low-to high-complex surgical procedures
• You have good English proficiency (minimum B1 level).
• Strong motivation to learn Dutch (B2 level or higher needed to be achieved).
• You are professional, independent, and committed to continuously upgrading your skills and knowledge within your profession.
