Job summary

A leading EPC contractor in the Netherlands is seeking an experienced Equipment Engineer to enhance offshore equipment through design and optimization. The successful candidate will manage engineering activities, collaborate with suppliers, and contribute to innovative solutions. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering and over 5 years in offshore projects are required. Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in offshore installation projects.
  • Experience in concept engineering required.
  • Knowledge of material applications and equipment optimization.
  • Knowledge of production methods, material applications, and equipment optimization.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD 2D/3D, Inventor, and Navisworks.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

  • Design and improve offshore equipment.
  • Prepare functional equipment designs.
  • Collaborate with suppliers for technical requirements.
  • Review engineering work produced by colleagues within the team.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to clarify technical requirements for owned and rental equipment.
  • Coordinate engineering activities internally and with subcontractors.
  • Manage interfaces between Engineering, Project, and Fleet departments within the organization.
  • Contribute to the development of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job description

Function:

As an Equipment Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, improving, and deploying offshore equipment, working closely with engineering, tender, project, and operational teams.

Specific duties in this role include:
  • Developing engineering solutions to optimize existing equipment for current and future offshore activities.
  • Preparing functional equipment designs and vessel deck layouts.
  • Preparing, issuing, and following up on specifications for detailed design and fabrication.
  • Reviewing engineering work produced by colleagues within the team.
  • Collaborating with suppliers to clarify technical requirements for owned and rental equipment.
  • Coordinating engineering activities internally and with subcontractors.
  • Managing interfaces between Engineering, Project, and Fleet departments within the organization.
  • Contributing to the development of new technologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in offshore installation projects and/or tendering activities.
  • Experience in concept engineering and the ability to think creatively and out of the box.
  • Knowledge of production methods, material applications, and equipment optimization.
  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD 2D/3D, Inventor, and Navisworks.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
