Job summary

ASML seeks an Enterprise risk expert to enable responsible business decisions by delivering deep risk expertise, cross‑sector insights, and independent challenge to senior leadership. You will synthesize complex information, challenge assumptions, and help leadership understand risks, tradeoffs and timing that shape strategic choices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in business, economics, risk management, or technology.
• Extensive risk/assurance experience across grades with ability to shape risk frameworks and policy.

Introduction to the job

As Enterprise risk expert, you will enable ASML to achieve its business objectives in a responsible way, by providing deep risk expertise, cross-sector insights, and independent challenge. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership and other business stakeholders, bringing an independent, forward looking risk view that enables leadership to understand what risks exist and what they mean for strategic choices, trade offs, and timing. You will be expected to synthesize complex information, challenge assumptions, and help the business focus on what truly matters — the systemic, cross functional risks that can impact ASML’s long term objectives.

Role and responsibilities

As Enterprise risk expert, you contribute to the maturity of ASML’s risk management processes, enhancing transparency, alignment with strategic priorities, and consistent application of risk principles across ASML. Your role strengthens organizational resilience and long-term value creation by embedding enterprise risk thinking in strategy and execution; anticipating emerging risks through scenario planning and systems thinking; providing clear, decision-oriented risk insights to senior stakeholders; shaping risk culture and fostering mature, open dialogue on uncertainty.

In this role, you will:

• Design, implement, and continuously improve risk management (RM) processes, governance, and tooling aligned to business needs. Define and provide relevant training and tooling
• Provide clear, concise, forward‑looking risk insights aligned with business objectives
• Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, enabling consistent risk‑based decision‑making. Serve as a challenger and thought partner, building constructive relationships across sectors
• Offer objective challenge and an unbiased risk perspective on both risk content and the maturity of risk management systems. Highlight assumptions that may fail under stress
• Build and facilitate credible scenarios and stress paths for strategic themes, decisions, and emerging risks. Quantify impacts where meaningful and compare options, timing, and residual risk
• Maintain awareness of the risk landscape and emerging threats; proactively surface new or evolving risks to relevant stakeholders
• Foster constructive, transparent conversations about risk. Convert risk concepts into practical, actionable strategies that enhance risk culture. Facilitate cross‑functional discussions and develop a common risk language
• Contribute to team development and knowledge transfer appropriate to seniority level

Education and experience

• Master’s degree in business, economics, risk management, or technology
• Strong general and comprehensive risk/assurance experience expected across grades/ demonstrated capability to shape risk frameworks and policy
• Demonstrated experience integrating risk with company strategy and business context in large, complex organizations
• Track record of engaging and influencing (senior) stakeholders and balancing multiple interests in complex environments
• Experience with translating high‑level trends into actionable insights and scenarios
• Recognized expert with extensive experience in multiple fields of risk management at strategic level; strong emphasis on strategic & global thinking, business sense, new complex risk management solutions and cross‑sector influence
