Job summary

Sendcloud is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead one or more feature teams at Eindhoven HQ with a 3-days-in-office hybrid setup. You will shape team goals, drive delivery, and partner closely with Product, Design, and Platform teams to deliver scalable shipping platform experiences.

You will mentor engineers, own technical health, and champion operational excellence. You will manage 7+ years in software engineering or leadership, with at least 3 years in management, and experience

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in software engineering or engineering leadership.
At least 3 years in Engineering Management.
Experience managing engineers directly, including coaching, feedback, performance management, career development, promotions, and retention.
Experience leading teams of 10+ people across multiple projects or domains.
Experience in an organization with 50+ engineers and coordinating large-scale work.
Strong background in software engineering and product development.
Proven ability to partner with Product Management, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver impact.
Experience driving delivery, execution, and continuous improvement in Agile or iterative environments.
Experience hiring, interviewing, and developing engineering talent.
Understanding production ownership — incident management, observability, runbooks, security, and privacy-aware development.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

Own end-to-end delivery for one or more teams, manage scope and risks, remove blockers, and balance quality with speed.
Translate Product and Tech strategy into clear team goals and align with engineering standards.
Lead, coach, and develop engineers through regular 1:1s, feedback, performance management, and career growth.
Partner with Product and Design to plan, prioritise, and communicate progress and risks.
Guide architecture, code quality, documentation, test automation, and technical debt management.
Ensure production ownership of services, observability, incident handling, and runbooks.
