Job summary

Fiducial is seeking an Engineering Lead to guide and grow a multidisciplinary team across software and hardware at the Aerospace Innovation Hub in Delft. You will drive robust, scalable foundations and align engineering work with the company's growth trajectory.

In this role you will balance technical credibility with people leadership, partner with the CTO and COO, and shape processes to support faster delivery while maintaining quality in a demanding, defence-oriented context.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience scaling engineering practices in startup/scale-up.
• Ability to coach engineers at different levels.
• Strong cross-functional communication.
• Background in software/embedded/hardware–software integration.
• Familiarity with Agile, CI/CD, modern tooling.
• Comfort with defense-related constraints.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor software, hardware, and embedded engineers.
• Develop clearer ownership and healthy team dynamics.
• Plan capacity and staffing aligned with priorities.
• Improve engineering processes for scale.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, CTO; translate requirements.
• Support deployment readiness and field support.
• Act as Chief of Staff to CTO in planning.
