Job summary

BMC Software, Inc. is seeking an EMEA Senior Tax Associate to join one of its EMEA offices, based in Poland or the Netherlands. The role reports to the EMEA Sr Tax manager in the Netherlands and focuses on income tax accounting, compliance, research, planning, and audits.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to work with cross-functional teams across corporate accounting, treasury, and legal. Some travel for business may be required.

Qualifications

• RA certification preferred or in process.
• Large corporate tax experience preferred; Big 4 public accounting experience preferred.
• Strong technical tax background; strong compliance skills.
• Proficient knowledge of US GAAP ASC 740 and tax impacts to financial statements.
• Well organized; plans, organizes, and monitors performance according to priorities.
• Willing to get into the details; strong analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly self-motivated; takes initiative; proactive; anticipates situations; identifies and addresses issues; accountable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quarterly income tax provisions for 20+ EMEA entities/countries for consolidated US GAAP and local statutory statements.
• Assist with outside tax consultants in income tax compliance in each country.
• Review income tax returns prepared by outside consultants and perform accrual calculations.
• Assist with cash tax forecasting.
• Assist with indirect tax matters such as VAT and withholding tax compliance.
• Maintain knowledge of changing tax laws and regulations; implement necessary changes.
