Job summary

Confed is seeking a System Architect in Amersfoort to translate client needs into future‑proof hardware/software solutions. You will engage with clients, sales and engineering teams to define system concepts and high‑level designs.

Qualifications

• You have 5 to 10 years’ experience in embedded product development, a substantial part of which has been in an architectural role.
• An HBO/WO degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems or a comparable field is required.
• You have demonstrable knowledge of embedded systems and understand PCB design at schematic and layout levels.
• You are familiar with key components of embedded systems and electronics.
• You are familiar with electronics tools such as the oscilloscope, logic analyser, Altium and LTSpice.
• You are both a thinker and a doer and can prototype, debug and analyze code or hardware as needed.
• You have strong analytical skills, a pragmatic approach and excellent communication skills.
• You have a good command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients, sales and project managers and engineering teams to arrive at feasible system choices.
• Draw up high‑level designs and decide platforms, interfaces, protocols and system boundaries.
• Balance functionality with reliability, safety, cost and time‑to‑market.
• Ensure consistency between hardware, firmware, software and integration.
• Maintain the overarching vision and safeguard the integrity of the solution.
• Identify technical risks early and guide feasibility, performance and maintainability.
