Job summary

Yanmar’s Electrification Unit (Eleo Technologies B.V.) is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer – ePowertrain to join our R&D team in a global, collaborative setting. You will design and implement embedded software for E/E architectures powering electric off-highway machines, working with teams in the Netherlands, Germany, and Japan.

You will analyze components, optimize performance, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of embedded software development experience for E/E architectures.
• Experience in PCU development, preferably in automotive or similar electrification projects.
• Hands-on experience with hardware components, analyzing control behavior, and developing integration software.
• Proficient in English; ability to collaborate in multicultural teams.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience using MATLAB Simulink for software development and deployment.
• Strong knowledge of automotive and off-highway communication protocols and ecosystems (CAN, J1939/CANOpen, UDS, LIN, AUTOSAR).
• Experience with embedded development tools.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ are a plus.
• Strong scripting skills and experience with automation tools are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement embedded software solutions as part of the E/E architecture for electrified systems.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to analyze, compare, and select electronic components, gaining a deep understanding of their behavior and developing effective control strategies.
• Ensure seamless integration of electronic components within the E/E architecture, optimizing system performance and functionality.
• Innovate and enhance the E/E architecture through continuous code optimization and feature updates.
• Work collaboratively with teams across Germany, Japan, and the Netherlands to align software strategies with overall design objectives.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation of software architectures, changes, and version control.
• Ensure all embedded software solutions comply with industry standards and Yanmar's quality benchmarks.
