Job summary

TrellisWare Technologies seeks a Platform Software Porting Engineer to design, develop, and test porting foundations for partner radio vendors' Software Defined Radio products. You will work with embedded hardware, platform abstractions, and IPC, with emphasis on performance and security considerations.

Ideal candidates have 4+ years on embedded Linux/RTOS BSPs, 2+ years with Yocto, and strong C/C++/Python skills.

Qualifications

• 4+ years developing embedded Linux and/or RTOS-based board support packages.
• 2+ years with the Yocto Project.
• Strong C/C++ and Python.
• Experience with software debugging and lab test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and testing software platform execution environments.
• Building and maintaining Linux and RTOS-based hardware abstraction layers, including inter-processor and inter-process communication.
• Designing and extending hardware-specific software component variants.
• Verifying performance with targeted code and running feasibility/performance analysis on new hardware and software runtime environments.
• Working with common Linux services and protocols.
• Documenting design alternatives and presenting to stakeholders.
• Collaborating cross-functionally to measure, debug, and optimize radio system performance.
