Job summary

European Space Agency in Noordwijk, NL invites an internship in the Electrical Department - Wave Interaction and Propagation Section. You will contribute to FORUM performance assessments, work with end-to-end simulators, and help prototype calibration algorithms for space instruments.

We seek a university student in their final or penultimate year of a Master's program, able to remain enrolled for the internship duration, with knowledge of optics and software development in Python/Matlab.

Qualifications

• Must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of Master's level.
• Able to prove enrollment at your university for the entire duration of the internship.
• Knowledge of optics (wave propagation) is an asset.
• Additional requirements: numerical modelling and data analysis skills; experience in software development and coding in Python/Matlab (C++ is an asset).

Responsibilities

• Involve in FORUM performance assessment activities.
• Work with end-to-end simulator datasets to support Level 1/2 retrievals and ground segment development.
• Prototype calibration and processing algorithms for FORUM.
• Engage in data processing, modelling and validation tasks related to instruments performances.
