Job summary

ASML is seeking a Computational Physics Engineer to advance metrology software with cutting-edge electromagnetic models. You will develop solvers and integrate them into ASML's optical metrology solutions, enabling faster, more accurate measurements worldwide.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across the Netherlands and the US, design new metrics and algorithms, and contribute to product roadmaps and IP.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in physics, applied mathematics, electrical engineering, or computer science.
  • Experience with high-performance computing in a Linux environment.
  • Strong programming knowledge in C++11 and familiarity with Python or MATLAB.
  • Background in developing electromagnetic or similar computational algorithms.
  • Experience designing numerical methods, understanding physical modeling, and implementing efficient scientific code.

Responsibilities

  • Develop high-performance electromagnetic solvers and integral equation methods.
  • Create Maxwell solver functionality for alignment simulations and optical inspection.
  • Build, test, and maintain algorithms and translate requirements into robust software modules.
  • Explain mathematical principles and optical models to internal partners.
  • Design and implement new metrics, models, and algorithms to meet product needs.
  • Review technical analyses and provide structured feedback to teammates.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps and support IP creation.
