Job summary

Magnus Energy seeks an experienced Electricity Market Integration Expert to support EU stakeholders in market analysis projects related to day-ahead and intraday markets, and capacity calculations. You will derive insights through data analysis and modelling, while helping draft proposals and training teammates.

The role requires a strong technical background, autonomy, and fluency in English, with Dutch or German as a plus.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, energy economics, physics or related field.
  • Solid understanding of EU electricity markets in day-ahead and intraday timeframes and associated capacity calculation methodologies and regulatory developments in the EU.
  • 3–5 years of experience in electricity market analysis for EU stakeholders, especially EU TSOs.
  • Strong analytical and data visualization skills.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

As an Electricity Market Integration Expert, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality support to EU stakeholders (e.g. TSOs, RCCs, NRAs, market parties, NEMOs…) in projects related to coupled day-ahead and intraday markets (SDAC & SIDC) and their capacity calculation methodologies, analysis of electricity markets, the power system or new commercialization opportunities.
  • Derive impactful insights through data analysis, visualization and potentially modelling.
  • Support the team in drafting tailored project proposals for clients for future projects.
  • Train and support other team members.

Who We Are Looking For
  • MSc in electrical engineering, (energy) economics, physics or similar
  • A solid understanding of EU electricity markets in day-ahead and intraday timeframes and associated capacity calculation methodologies as well as of the relevant market and regulatory developments in the EU
  • Around 3-5 years of experience in the electricity market analysis for EU stakeholders, especially EU TSOs.
  • Very strong analytical skills, which include forward and creative thinking, ability to quickly grasp complex concepts and convey them succinctly
  • Strong skills and experience in data analysis. Experience with energy market models and/or data visualization tools (e.g. PowerBI, relevant Python libraries) is a strong plus
  • High degree of autonomy – incl. motivation to get things done and proactive problem solving and support of teammates.
  • Professional fluency in English (minimum C1). Fluency in German or Dutch is a plus.
