the next Globetrotter is looking for a hands-on Electrical Engineer/Mechatronics Technician in the Netherlands. You will prepare, assemble, test and maintain electrical systems in the workshop and at customer sites, helping customers get equipment operating correctly.

Qualifications

This role

Do you enjoy practical electrical work, solving problems and seeing equipment come to life? This opportunity in the Netherlands combines workshop work with customer‑site installations and service.

You will prepare, assemble, maintain and test electrical systems, then help customers get their equipment operating correctly. The role suits someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and communicates confidently with customers.

Main responsibilities:

  • Assemble and test equipment before delivery.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Install, commission and functionally test systems at customer sites.
  • Complete inspections in line with applicable standards.
  • Explain equipment operation to customers.
  • Share improvement suggestions with engineering colleagues.

Most work takes place in the workshop, with approximately 20-25% at customer sites.

Our client is a growing Dutch technical business working on electrical equipment and sustainable energy applications.

The team has a practical, collaborative approach, with direct communication and room for individual initiative. You will have the opportunity to take technical responsibility and contribute ideas.

Function criteria

A qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a comparable discipline.

Service experience with electrical or mechatronic equipment.

Good technical understanding and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

A customer‑focused approach.

Willingness to travel to customer sites.

A valid driver’s licence.
