Edge Go Backend Engineer

Job summary

Telnyx LLC seeks experienced backend engineers to design and build Go-based services for a serverless platform with a global control plane. You will own APIs, resource lifecycles, and workload deployments across edge infrastructure, while ensuring a high-quality developer experience and reliable operations.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of backend experience, strong Go or related languages, and solid knowledge of distributed systems, databases, and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of professional backend software development experience.
• Proficiency in Go, or strong experience in Rust, Java or C++ with Go interest.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, retries and idempotency.
• Experience designing APIs and resource models for developers.
• Experience with relational databases, transactions, migrations.
• Experience building asynchronous systems using queues or state machines.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and deploying workloads on Kubernetes.
• On-call experience with highly available services.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the Go services behind our serverless platform, function deployment pipeline, and global control plane.
• Own backend and control-plane software, from customer-facing APIs and resource lifecycles to services that deploy and manage workloads.
• Make the platform easy to use: clean APIs, a sharp CLI, predictable behavior, and helpful error messages.
• Build reliable deployment workflows for configurations, storage, and observability; manage retries and failures across services and DCs.
• Work with Kubernetes and runtime infrastructure, diagnose latency, throughput, and reliability issues.
• Create tooling to operate safely at scale and participate in on-call for the systems you build.
