Job summary

Optics11 is seeking a hands-on Software Test Engineer to ensure quality and reliability of software in fiber‑optic sensing systems. You will define and execute tests across edge devices, cloud services, APIs, and GUIs, working with data scientists, back‑end developers, and software architects to meet requirements.

You will design test strategies, automate where possible, and help maintain testing pipelines, contributing to release readiness and overall quality across complex engineering

Qualifications

• Experience in software testing or quality assurance.
• Experience developing automated tests using Pytest, Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or comparable frameworks.
• Experience testing REST APIs and web-based graphical user interfaces.
• Familiarity with Docker, AWS, GitLab, Linux and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design structured, maintainable automated tests.
• Familiarity with behaviour-driven development and Gherkin specifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, regression, system, and end-to-end testing across edge devices, cloud services, APIs, databases, and GUIs.
• Define test strategies, plans, test cases, acceptance criteria, and automated scripts for edge and cloud platforms.
• Identify, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers, and engineers to ensure coverage.
• Contribute to automated test frameworks and pipelines.
• Test edge–cloud behavior under connectivity interruptions and update scenarios.
• Validate software performance, reliability, and stability.
• Assist testing of edge hardware with hardware–software integration.
