Job summary

ISH Primary, part of Rijnlands Lyceum Foundation, seeks an Early Years Teacher to join the Primary team in The Hague from 1 November 2026. This full-time role focuses on nurturing, play-based learning for ages 4–11, with a developmentally appropriate approach and an IB PYP framework orientation.

The successful candidate will have a recognized teaching qualification, EU work eligibility, experience in Early Years, and excellent English language skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Primary Education or PGCE with QTS
• Experience teaching in Early Years or early primary
• Strong understanding of early childhood development
• Experience with inquiry-based learning and play-based environments
• Observation and assessment to inform next steps
• Differentiated practices for multilingual learners

Responsibilities

• Create a safe, nurturing learning environment for young children
• Plan developmentally appropriate learning experiences
• Use play, inquiry and exploration to support development
• Balance child-initiated and teacher-guided activities
• Foster independence, curiosity and love of learning
• Design indoor and outdoor spaces for exploration
• Use observation to inform teaching and next steps
• Support literacy, numeracy and ATL skills
• Build warm relationships and sense of belonging
• Collaborate with families and ISH teams
• Promote multilingualism and intercultural understanding
• Support transitions into school
