Job summary

MSD Animal Health Nederland is seeking an Extractables & Leachables Specialist to assess packaging-related risks and ensure safety and regulatory compliance for pharmaceutical products in an international setting.

You will coordinate testing, interpret results, and prepare technical reports, collaborating with Packaging, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Manufacturing, and R&D to drive product safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in a relevant scientific or technical field.
• Knowledge of extractables and leachables risk assessments or similar challenges.
• Experience in a regulated environment (pharma, medical devices, life sciences).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct E&L risk assessments for packaging materials, process contact materials and devices.
• Coordinate E&L testing programs and interpret results within project frameworks.
• Prepare, review, and maintain technical reports and documentation.
• Provide E&L expertise for commercial products and R&D projects.
• Contribute to validation and qualification activities related to packaging changes.
• Support investigations into quality issues and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare E&L documentation for audits and regulatory submissions.
• Communicate progress and identify risks to stakeholders.
• Share knowledge to develop E&L methodologies and tools.
