Job summary

Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam is seeking a Duty Manager to lead operational processes and support the Front Office as a first contact in emergencies. You’ll work in rotating shifts to maintain hotel excellence and guest satisfaction.

You will bring MEWS experience, a BHV diploma, and fluency in Dutch and/or English, with additional languages welcomed. An Amrâth Hotels environment offers growth and strong team collaboration.

Qualifications

• You have a completed MHS/HHS education.
• MEWS experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as troubleshooter to elevate operational performance across departments.
• Serve as frontline contact in emergencies within Front Office.
• Escalate issues appropriately and coordinate with hotel teams.
• Contribute to development of the Duty Manual and shift rotations.
• Support VIP guest service and uphold guest satisfaction.

What will you be doing?

As a troubleshooter at our hotel, you are the dynamic link always ready to elevate every aspect of our operation to the next level. Whether it’s providing expert advice, assisting in various departments, or handling complaints from our valued guests, you are the hero who ensures a personal and professional approach.

Your presence is strongly felt within the Front Office team, where you not only play a supervisory role but also serve as the first point of contact in emergency situations. As a troubleshooter, you are our \"hotline\" to operational efficiency. You keep a close eye on the overall well‑being of the hotel in the absence of management and are a master at anticipating situations both inside and around the hotel. Your proactive approach ensures that you handle situations appropriately and seamlessly escalates them to the right people within or outside the hotel. Welcoming and assisting VIP guests comes naturally to you, and you contribute to the continuous improvement of our operational processes by actively participating in the development of the Duty Manual. Together with a close‑knit team of Duty Managers, you work in rotating shifts, both in the morning and evening, to ensure our hotel is always in top shape.

In the former Shipping House of Amsterdam, you’ll find one of the city’s most iconic five‑star hotels: Grand Hotel Amrâth Amsterdam. The hotel features 205 luxurious rooms, including 22 suites, 8 meeting and event rooms, a Bar Lounge, and a Spa & Wellness center. Conveniently located just 500 meters from Amsterdam Central Station and easily accessible from the highway, it’s a prime destination.

Your Qualifications

• You have a completed MHS/HHS education.


• Do you have experience with MEWS? That’s a plus.


• You have a BHV diploma and have knowledge of Social Hygiene.


• You are skilled in Dutch and/or English. Do you speak an additional language? ¡Muy bien, sehr gut!

• A salary in accordance with the Hospitality collective labor agreement, 2645,47 EUR to 2752,35 EUR, based on a full‑time contract of 38 hours and depending on your experience.
