Job summary

Sofitel Legend The Grand Amsterdam is offering a Duty Management Trainee internship. You will assist the Duty Manager in coordinating daily activities, ensuring guest well‑being, and learning to balance routine tasks with ad hoc situations in a luxury five‑star environment.

The program includes hands-on shifts, cross training across departments, a monthly internship allowance of €600 gross (based on 38 hours per week), travel allowance, and complimentary staff meals.

Qualifications

• You are studying hospitality management at HBO level.
• You are available for at least 5 months.
• You speak English fluently.
• You are flexible (available 24/7), serious and attentive and stand firmly in your shoes.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Duty Manager in coordinating daily hotel operations and guest services.
• Learn to balance regular tasks with ad hoc situations and provide timely solutions.
• Support the management team and gain hands-on insight into daily hotel activity and guest satisfaction.

During this internship you will have the opportunity to assist in the work of a Duty Manager in an international, luxury five-star hotel. Our Duty Managers are responsible for the operations of the hotel and represent the management team in their absence. Their challenge is to find the right balance between regular work and ad hoc situations. They have the responsibility to make quick and adequate decisions that affect the well-being of guests and other employees. Another would describe them as an involved manager who oversees everything from a 'strategic' position, who watches and listens carefully and responds quickly to developments and offers solutions where necessary, while at the same time coaching and monitoring colleagues with the aim of providing consistent service and therefore guest satisfaction.

• The internship allowance is €600 gross per month, based on 38 hours per week.

About Our Hotel

Sofitel Legend the Grand Amsterdam offers five-star deluxe service in a unique Amsterdam historical ambience with French elegance. Our hotel is part of the French hotel chain Accor.
