Job summary

Boskalis in the Netherlands offers an internship focused on turbidity plume forecasting in dredging projects. The assignment targets university students in hydraulic/offshore engineering or applied mathematics and invites exploration of prediction methods for low-current environments.

You will work with real data from the Sohar project and other assets, applying numerical modelling, programming or machine learning to enhance predictions. Fluent English and/or Dutch are expected.

Qualifications

• You are enrolled in a university program in Hydraulic Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related dredging field.
• You are interested in dredging and environmental impact.
• You have an affinity with numerical modelling, programming and/or machine learning.
• You have a good command of written and spoken English and/or Dutch.

Responsibilities

• Assist with turbidity plume prediction research for low-current environments.
• Work with hydrodynamic model data and in-situ measurements.
• Explore ML approaches alongside physics-based models.
