Job summary

Farlements in Amsterdam invites you to join our Downstream Processing Internship, helping shape the future of protein production and sustainable food systems. You’ll work across bench and pilot scales to develop the recovery process of our protein with a tight-knit team.

You’ll optimise downstream recovery, translate bench-scale experiments to pilot-scale applications, and support routine production operations while documenting data and protocols.

Qualifications

• Background in food technology, (bio)process technology, process engineering and/or chemical engineering.
• Capable of working in bench, pilot and data documentation.
• Team player with excellent English proficiency.
• We only hire interns that need to do a mandatory internship for university.
• Internship duration of 6‑7 months.
• Starting period from August – September, 2025.

Responsibilities

• Optimise downstream recovery at pilot scale.
• Support weekly production operations – upstream and downstream.
• Set up protocols to investigate and improve processes.
• Improve and automate processes.
• Translate bench‑scale experiments to pilot‑scale applications.
• Analyse our protein with various analytical methods.
