Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Discipline Manager to lead the engineering discipline across a major project in the Netherlands. The role reports to the Engineering Manager and liaises with EPCM contractors, client site reps, and home-office teams to ensure alignment and technical integrity.

The candidate will drive design decisions, manage contractor performance, and maintain a strong safety culture while facilitating input from operations and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• Proven leadership on large capital/EPCM projects.
• Deep expertise in discipline engineering and process design reviews.
• Strong contractor and stakeholder management skills.
• Decisive problem solver with safety focus.

Responsibilities

• Direct discipline engineering operations across the project lifecycle.
• Act as primary technical authority and contact among EPCM, client reps, and home-office teams.
• Monitor EPCM contractor performance; clarify scope, quality, budget, and deliverables; escalate risks.
• Provide expert technical advice and prompt resolutions to complex discipline challenges.
• Approve and execute key design decisions per authorization procedures.
• Ensure design input from operations, maintenance, and site reps; conduct site inspections as needed.
• Support procurement activities and align with site management and project team.
