Job summary

Google LLC in Amsterdam seeks a Director, Economic Community and Workforce Development to lead Google's global data center economic development program. You will build strategies, drive infrastructure labor and workforce development programs, and present to executive leadership.

You will advocate for data centers and collaborate with internal stakeholders and strategic vendors. You will embed best practices in community engagement, identify talent needs, and create sustainable workforce

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Public Policy, Business, Political Science, or Economics or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of economic development experience within a corporate organization, law/government, or consultancy.
Experience in people management.
Experience developing business to business partnerships.
Ability to communicate in 3 languages prevalent in the region fluently to support client relationships.

Responsibilities

Unlock new markets, reduce overall total cost of ownership, and improve community and stakeholder engagement.
Support the development of content to broaden and amplify messaging around the data center lifecycle, and lead industry coalitions and policy efforts.
Practice retail data center diplomacy, community by community, with local leads or grassroots organizers.
Uncouple agitation from core grievance and build constructive community strategies.
Grow, develop, and manage a global community engagement team including Public Affairs and Workforce Development.
