As a Digital Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding cloud infrastructure solutions, deploying cloud solutions, representing Manufacturing and Service, and providing training and support to field service engineers.
Responsibilities
- Engage with cloud solutions engineers and architects early in the Product Management Process (PMP) for new cloud solutions and PC/server, focusing on design for testability, reliability, sustainability, and serviceability by defining system specifications.
- Work closely with hypervisor suppliers, manage SLAs, and coordinate license management.
- Evaluate existing applications and platforms, provide recommendations to improve performance via gap analysis, identify practical alternative solutions, and assist with modifications.
- Prepare software modules for production and service use, transfer them according to defined procedures, and document knowledge transfer.
- Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation, work instructions, and procedures.
- Validate and implement automated deployments using configuration management technology.
- Provide second‑line field support by resolving hardware, software application, server, and network issues, identifying root causes and permanent fixes.
- Validate cloud‑based software applications for release and offer software product support on application and network levels with a broad knowledge of IoT.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering (BSc Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field) with a strong affinity for software.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare/KVM infrastructure.
- Proficiency with servers, networking, and storage.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Linux server operating systems.
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Bash and PowerShell.
- Familiarity with the incident management process.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and analytical approaches.
- Experience in optimizing guidelines, work instructions, and procedures.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with PC/server obsolescence management.
- Proficiency with analysis/monitoring tools like Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Grafana.
- Knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and Ansible is a plus.
