Job summary

Progressive is seeking an experienced DFT Engineer to join an international semiconductor company focused on advanced automotive and industrial electronics. The role spans remote, hybrid, or on-site work arrangements with a strong emphasis on testability and manufacturability of complex ICs.

The successful candidate will contribute to DFT methodologies, ATPG pattern generation, and integration with design and production teams, leveraging Tessent and scripting skills to ensure high-quality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant DFT experience.
  • Proven experience within the semiconductor industry.
  • Strong knowledge of Scan, ATPG, BIST, JTAG.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and define DFT specifications based on product test strategies and DfX requirements.
  • Implement and verify advanced DFT structures within complex chip designs.
  • Generate, optimize, and validate ATPG test patterns.
  • Support ATE bring-up and manufacturing test development.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative DFT methodologies, test strategies, and best practices.
  • Deliver project milestones and documentation according to quality and timing requirements.
  • Work closely with design, verification, and production teams throughout the development cycle.

Job description

For an innovative international semiconductor company developing advanced solutions for the automotive and industrial electronics markets, we are looking for an experienced DFT Engineer. The organization is renowned for its cutting-edge chip development, strong R&D culture, and focus on delivering high‑quality semiconductor solutions that power next‑generation technologies worldwide.

Location: Netherlands or abroad
Full‑time (40 hours per week)
100% Remote, Hybrid, or On‑site possible
Freelance/ZZP and Temporary/ Temp‑to‑Perm opportunities available

The Role

As a DFT Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for developing advanced semiconductor products for demanding industrial and automotive applications. You will play a key role in ensuring the testability, quality, and manufacturability of complex integrated circuits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and define DFT (Design for Test) specifications based on product test strategies and DfX requirements.
  • Implement and verify advanced DFT structures within complex chip designs.
  • Generate, optimize, and validate ATPG test patterns.
  • Support ATE bring-up and manufacturing test development.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative DFT methodologies, test strategies, and best practices.
  • Deliver project milestones and documentation according to quality and timing requirements.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Scan
    • ATPG
    • BIST
    • JTAG
  • Experience with DFT/ATPG tools such as Tessent.
  • Good understanding of VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Basic scripting experience (e.g. Python, Perl, Tcl, Shell).
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, hands‑on mindset.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with mixed-signal designs.
  • Knowledge of automotive semiconductor development processes.
  • Experience working in cross-functional international engineering teams.
