Michael Bailey Associates is seeking a DevOps Engineer for a banking client with strong OpenTelemetry experience to design and scale a next-generation observability platform in a cloud-native environment. You will design telemetry pipelines, standardize metrics, logs, and traces, and integrate OpenTelemetry into Kubernetes platforms to improve reliability.

This role sits at the intersection of DevOps, platform engineering, security, and observability, offering influence on monitoring strategy

Qualifications

  • Strong hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry and modern observability practices.
  • Solid DevOps background with Kubernetes and one or more cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
  • Experience with monitoring and visualization tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • A proactive mindset with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

For an banking client they are looking for a DevOps Engineer with strong experience in OpenTelemetry to help build and scale their next-generation observability platform. In this role, you will be working on designing and implementing telemetry pipelines, standardizing metrics, logs, and traces, and enabling full-stack observability across a complex, cloud-based environment.

You will play a key role in integrating OpenTelemetry into Kubernetes-based platforms, improving system reliability, and supporting engineering teams with better insights into performance and incidents. The position sits at the intersection of DevOps, platform engineering, and monitoring strategy, giving you real influence on how observability is shaped across the organization. This will be very close to the security domain
