Job summary

Nearfield Instruments is seeking a (Senior) Software Engineer for Device Control to drive software that operates advanced metrology hardware. You will lead from design through production, collaborating with design, mechatronics and production teams to deliver robust software for complex machines.

The role expects 5+ years in software development with a strong foundation in design, testing and integration, plus knowledge in machine vision is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Masters or Bachelors in CS, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems or related field.
  • 5+ years hands-on software development with design/architecture and testing.
  • Knowledge of machine vision or signal processing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead software development from design to production for device control.
  • Collaborate with mechatronics and production teams.
  • Design and implement software controlling complex hardware.
  • Write high quality, testable code and perform maintenance.
  • Assist customer support and production engineers with software questions.
  • Promote continuous improvement ideas for the product.
  • Work independently or as part of a global team.
