Job summary

XIVER is a fast-growing high-tech semiconductor scale-up located at the High Tech Campus Eindhoven. We are developing MEMS solutions for international markets and are looking for a Development Engineer to turn cutting-edge MEMS concepts into manufacturable technology.

You will work at the interface between design and production, developing MEMS manufacturing processes and driving new technologies toward production, with a direct impact on customer success and company growth.

Qualifications

  • MSc or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor processing, MEMS fabrication or other cleanroom manufacturing technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex process and metrology data into practical engineering solutions.
  • Ability to independently drive technical challenges from problem definition to implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and validate MEMS process flows that balance device performance, manufacturability and yield.
  • Translate complex technical challenges into structured experiments and data-driven solutions.
  • Take ownership of process integration challenges across the full development and manufacturing lifecycle.
  • Take the role of batch owner, driving development batches through the factory interacting with many stakeholders in the manufacturing process.
  • Drive the industrialization of new MEMS technologies from laboratory concepts to production-ready processes.
  • Identify technical risks and define robust engineering solutions that ensure predictable manufacturing outcomes.
  • Enable sustainable knowledge transfer through clear process documentation and engineering standards.
  • As a member of the Flow Engineering Group, a Development Engineer works closely with Project Leaders, MEMS architects, and Process Engineers in feasibility and prototyping projects translating customer needs into a first prototype.
  • Collaborates with Process Engineering and the Manufacturing team to progress to manufacturable solutions to be executed by Operations.
  • Partners with technical specialists to solve multidisciplinary process integration challenges.
  • Leads effective knowledge transfer between Development and Manufacturing.

Your profile

Must-have

  • MSc or PhD in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Hands-on experience with semiconductor processing, MEMS fabrication or other cleanroom manufacturing technologies.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex process and metrology data into practical engineering solutions.
  • Ability to independently drive technical challenges from problem definition to implementation.

Nice to have

  • PhD research involving semiconductor processing, MEMS fabrication or microfabrication.
  • Experience bringing new technologies from development into manufacturing.
