Job summary

Aldebaran Group in Rotterdam is seeking a DCS Commissioning Specialist / DCS Expert to join the site team during commissioning of a major industrial project. You will ensure proper operation of the DCS, validate control logic, and support start-up activities.

You bring a degree in Automation/Instrumentation, 10+ years of experience, strong DCS knowledge (especially Yokogawa), and proven ability to work on energy or chemical industry projects. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Automation, Instrumentation, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
• Significant experience in industrial commissioning and DCS systems.
• Significant experience with YOKOGAWA's systems.
• Experience on complex industrial projects within energy, chemical, petrochemical, hydrogen, oil & gas, or process industries.
• Strong knowledge of DCS systems and control system architectures.
• Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform a critical review of the existing DCS architecture and configuration.
• Support site teams in the execution of DCS-related commissioning activities.
• Conduct and supervise control logic verification (Logic Checks).
• Participate in functional testing of equipment and systems.
• Carry out Loop Checks and monitor the resolution of identified issues.
• Verify consistency between engineering documentation and on-site implementation.
• Analyze technical deviations and propose improvements when required.
• Challenge existing design choices to optimize system performance, reliability, and operability.
• Provide regular reporting to the project and commissioning teams.
