Job summary

Parallel Consulting is seeking a hands-on Datacenter Engineer to support and maintain Windows and Linux servers, virtualization, and day-to-day datacenter operations in a large enterprise environment.

You will manage a mix of physical servers and ~1,000 VMs, monitor infrastructure, perform installations and patches, and assist with backup and disaster recovery. This role requires strong troubleshooting and practical experience in data-center admin.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience within a datacenter or infrastructure environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration.
• Experience with VMware vSphere/ESXi or similar virtualisation platforms.
• Experience managing physical servers and virtual machines.
• Good understanding of server hardware, storage, and networking within a datacenter.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain Windows and Linux servers.
• Support a virtual environment of approximately 1,000 virtual machines across 100 physical servers.
• Monitor and troubleshoot server, storage, and infrastructure issues.
• Perform server installations, upgrades, patching, and maintenance.
• Support datacenter operations up to the operating system level.
• Manage server-side networking and connectivity.
• Assist with backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring.
