Job summary

The Amsterdam School of Communication Research (ASCoR) at the University of Amsterdam is seeking a Data Steward to advise researchers on data management, privacy, and compliance. You will coordinate with the legal department and privacy security teams, and collaborate with other data stewards across faculties.

You will design data management plans, support open science practices, and contribute to policy development while assisting the Ethics Review Board and researchers in GDPR-related matters.

Qualifications

• Interest in research data management and privacy in science.
• Affinity with Communication Science research.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is a plus.
• Organisational and proactive, able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Advise researchers on data management, including data collection, storage and sharing.
• Collaborate with legal, privacy/security teams and Ethics Review Board.
• Develop data management policies and assess risks using DPIA.
• Review projects in the Research Management Services Portal and support researchers.
