Job summary

Fitura in Utrecht seeks a Senior Insights Data Scientist to transform large transaction data into automated insights and production-ready solutions. You will work in a hybrid role (36 hours per week) combining analytics, software, and business knowledge to optimize transaction monitoring rules and combat financial crime.

You will lead analytical projects, build dashboards, and guide junior data scientists while communicating clearly with stakeholders in English and Dutch.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a technical field required.

For one of our market leading clients in Utrecht, I'm recruiting for Data Scientist.

Role Overview

As a Senior Insights Data Scientist (Financial Economic Crime Technology Tribe), you transform complex transaction data from over 9.5 million customers into automated insights and production-ready solutions. Operating in a hybrid setup (36 hours per week), you combine advanced analytics, software development, and business knowledge to help colleagues assess and optimize Transaction Monitoring rules, combat financial crime, and improve compliance efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analytical Pipelines & Rule Tuning: Build and improve analytical pipelines that automate rule tuning, support scalable multi-parameter analysis, and translate Above-the-Line / Below-the-Line tuning processes into data-driven recommendations.

• End-to-End Project Delivery: Deliver end-to-end analytical projects, from translating business requirements into technical models to presenting clear recommendations to stakeholders.

• Dashboards & Decision Support: Design and develop production-ready dashboards and analytical products (using Python, Databricks, and Power BI) to make complex insights accessible for automated tuning and investigation workflows.

• Technical Leadership: Guide junior and mid-level data scientists, sharing technical vision and fostering best practices across the multidisciplinary team.

Your Deliverables:

• Production-ready analytical models, decision logic, and automated pipelines for transaction monitoring optimization.

• Interactive dashboards and decision-support tools for stakeholder reporting.

• Version-controlled codebases, testing frameworks, and documentation following software engineering best practices.

Your Profile:

• Education: Master's degree in a technical field.

• Experience (Hard Requirements):

  • More than 7 years of professional experience in data analysis using Python.
  • Hands-on experience with PySpark, Databricks, and Power BI.
  • Proven experience building end-to-end solutions utilizing repositories, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and testing frameworks.

• Personal Style: Inquisitive problem-solver, excellent communicator capable of uncovering underlying business needs, and a collaborative mentor to junior team members.

• Language: English and Dutch mandatory;
