Job summary

ShanX MedTech BV in the Netherlands is seeking a motivated Data Scientist to help accelerate the development of our diagnostic device. You will generate and refine data analysis tools and algorithms to inform product strategy and improve patient outcomes.

The role is a full-time contract for 40 hours per week over three years, involving data-driven research, model development, validation, and collaboration with software teams to translate algorithms into production-ready applications.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in data science, CS, statistics, bioinformatics, biomedical engineering, or related field.
• 2 years’ experience in a similar function.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL for data manipulation and modeling.
• Familiarity with data cleaning, transformation, and normalization.
• Fluency in English and ability to communicate data insights clearly.
• Willingness to perform experimental work in a laboratory environment with bacteria.
• Ability to translate algorithms for professional software developers.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D for generation of relevant data used as input to algorithms.
• Lead analysis of large and complex datasets, including clinical data and diagnostic references.
• Train, develop and refine algorithms and models for data analysis and predictive analytics.
• Identify and engineer features from raw data to improve model performance.
• Validate predictive models using cross-validation, bootstrapping, and holdout validation.
