This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established data function that is ready for its next stage of growth. You will combine hands‑on technical leadership with people leadership, shaping the roadmap, standards, and future direction of the data capability while working closely with senior stakeholders.

The Role

You will lead a small but growing data team while remaining hands‑on across architecture, engineering, analytics, and machine learning initiatives.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and developing a growing team of data professionals.
• Owning the technical direction of the data platform and data roadmap.
• Delivering and maintaining production‑grade data products and machine learning solutions.
• Driving governance, data modelling standards, and KPI definitions across the business.
• Partnering with commercial stakeholders to identify opportunities that create measurable business value.
• Supporting the development of self‑service analytics and reporting capabilities.
• Contributing directly through architecture design, coding, and technical leadership.
• Expanding the company's capabilities in pricing, forecasting, and commercial optimisation.

Your Skills & Experience

• Previous people management experience with responsibility for coaching, mentoring, or leading a data team.
• Strong commercial experience across Data Engineering, Data Science, or Analytics.
• Experience building and scaling modern cloud‑based data platforms.
• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Hands‑on experience with dbt and orchestration tools such as Airflow.
• Experience deploying data products and machine learning models into production environments.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience within marketplace, e‑commerce, or similar digital product environments.
• Exposure to A/B testing and experimentation frameworks.
• Experience developing or supporting search ranking, recommendation, or personalisation systems.
• Strong understanding of data modelling, data governance, and production machine learning lifecycle management.
