Job summary

Studytube is seeking a Data Engineer to own the data platform end-to-end within the Product & Technology team. You will design, build and run pipelines from raw data to analytics-ready marts, collaborating with analysts, product managers and engineers.

The role emphasizes tests, monitoring, and documentation in a hybrid Amsterdam setting. You will manage Snowflake and Databricks on Azure, work with ingestion via Fivetran, and drive a migration roadmap with cost-conscious, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on data engineer experience in production (3–6 years).
• Experience with Databricks on Azure and data platforms end-to-end.
• Strong SQL and production dbt (Cloud).
• Snowflake experience or similar warehouse platforms.
• Fivetran or custom ingestion connectors for data ingestion.
• Proficient Python and Git workflow; code reviews & PRs.
• Testing mindset with data quality tests and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Own Snowflake data warehouse ingestion, transformation, modelling and marts used by analysts and product teams.
• Own Databricks environment on Azure: pipelines, access, cost and daily operations with security/compliance.
• Build end-to-end, incremental, tested, and well-documented pipelines.
• Clean up and extend current architecture; enforce conventions and maintainability.
• Ingest new sources via Fivetran or custom connectors including edge cases.
• Run dbt Cloud jobs with dependencies, scheduling and failure handling.
• Monitor data freshness, volume, schema drift; perform root-cause analysis when issues arise.
• Support measurement of business-use-case metrics and GDPR-aware data handling.
