Job summary

Valcon is seeking a Data Modelling Consultant to join our Utrecht-based team. You will translate business needs into conceptual and logical data models that underpin data platforms, reporting, dashboards, and advanced analytics.

You will work with business and technical stakeholders to ensure aligned, scalable data solutions and contribute to modelling standards across data products. You will collaborate in cross-functional projects, helping define data structures, governance, and best

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in data modelling or related roles.
• Familiar with data modelling methodologies (Ensemble, Dimensional, Relational) and standards (Data Vault, Kimball, Inmon, Graph).
• Familiar with data lineage and data architecture.
• Familiar with SQL and data query languages.
• Experience in data warehousing, BI, or reporting environments.
• Experience with data governance and setting up governance structures.
• Strong abstract thinking and ability to design solutions at detailed and high levels.
• Strong communication skills with business and technical teams.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain conceptual and logical data models based on business requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify key entities and relationships.
• Translate business processes into data structures using established modelling standards.
• Work with analysts, engineers and architects to ensure alignment between models.
• Support data governance and data management activities.
• Share knowledge and help improve modelling frameworks.
