Job summary

SBM Offshore is seeking a Data Governance Lead to support the Data Governance Manager in developing and implementing data governance frameworks. You will lead data quality, privacy, ownership, stewardship, and security initiatives while guiding governance teams across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field; 5+ years in data governance or data management.
• Proven leadership experience and ability to mentor teams.
• Strong communication skills with cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience with data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of data governance policies ensuring quality, security, and compliance.
• Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and stakeholders to establish governance frameworks and best practices.
• Develop and maintain documentation for data policies, procedures, and standards.
• Monitor compliance with data governance policies and address issues or breaches promptly.
• Provide training and support to teams on governance practices and tools.
• Conduct audits and reviews of data governance processes for continuous improvement.
• Guide data quality processes including profiling, cleansing, and validation.
• Coordinate with IT and data management teams to embed governance in data architectures.
• Develop and enforce data stewardship practices ensuring accountability across the organisation.
