Job summary

Xccelerated | Part of Xebia is seeking a data engineer with hands-on Scala experience to build large-scale data pipelines for one of the world’s leading airlines. You will work on scalable data infrastructure supporting predictive maintenance, disruption management, and operational efficiency across the airline ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Around 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with Scala.
• Knowledge of open-source technologies like Spark, Kafka, Airflow or Kubernetes.
• Comfortable working with a variety of data types, formats, and velocities and scaling from a single machine to distributed systems.
• Customer-focused with a strong can-do mentality; results-driven and eager to take on challenging tasks.

Responsibilities

• Build, secure, and manage reliable data pipelines and data flows from multiple internal and external sources.
• Integrate data into cloud-based platforms to support analytics and operational tools, ensuring platform scalability.
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, product owners, and business analysts on data-driven aviation projects.
• Support and maintain the data infrastructure behind advanced AI tools, including predictive maintenance models, disruption decision-support systems, and applications that help reduce operational waste.
• Manage active data integrations across operations, fleet maintenance, and e-commerce systems within a cloud environment.
