Job summary

Multitankcard is building the next generation of its data platform on Microsoft Fabric. You will design and implement data pipelines from diverse sources, ensure reliability and scalability, and drive architectural standards across the data stack.

As part of a small, ambitious Data & Analytics team, you’ll shape data governance, performance tuning and cost controls while delivering business-ready insights at scale.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on experience building data ingestion and ETL pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/T‑SQL and PySpark/Python.
• Experience with Delta Lake and medallion-style architectures, including incremental load patterns.
• Understanding of analytics and semantic modelling to produce business-ready data.
• Communication and stakeholder management skills, with bachelor’s-level thinking.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent working and thinking ability.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage data pipelines from source systems, APIs and files into Microsoft Fabric.
• Shape and maintain the medallion architecture across Lakehouse and Warehouse environments.
• Develop scalable transformations using PySpark, Python and T-SQL.
• Keep the platform healthy by monitoring, logging, alerting and troubleshooting.
• Manage Fabric capacity, performance and cost as the platform grows.
• Help establish strong engineering standards around CI/CD, security and governance.

Your mission

Your mission is to help build the next generation of our data platform and make sure data flows reliably, efficiently and at scale. As we migrate from Exasol to Microsoft Fabric, you’ll play a key role in designing and building the pipelines, architecture and engineering standards that will support our organisation for years to come. Together with the BI Specialist and DRIVE Product Owner, you’ll have real influence over how we structure, govern and develop our data platform.

What the job looks like week to week

You’ll build and manage data pipelines from source systems, APIs and files into Microsoft Fabric, shaping data through the different layers until it’s ready for analytics and reporting.

You’ll also make sure the platform stays reliable and scalable: monitoring pipelines, solving refresh issues, improving performance and keeping an eye on capacity and cost as the platform grows.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain reliable data pipelines in Microsoft Fabric, from source systems, APIs and files through to the Gold layer.
• Shape and maintain the medallion architecture across Lakehouse and Warehouse environments.
• Develop scalable transformations using PySpark, Python and T-SQL.
• Keep the platform healthy and reliable through monitoring, logging, alerting and troubleshooting.
• Manage Fabric capacity, performance and cost as the platform grows.
• Help establish strong engineering standards around CI/CD, security and governance.

Must-have

• 3+ years of hands‑on experience building data ingestion and ETL pipelines.
• Strong knowledge of SQL/T‑SQL and PySpark/Python.
• Experience with Delta Lake and medallion‑style architectures, including incremental load patterns.
• Enough understanding of the analytics and semantic modelling side to know what good, business‑ready data should look like.
• Communication and stakeholder management skills, with bachelor’s‑level thinking and working ability gained through education or experience.
• Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent working and thinking ability

Nice-to-have

• Fabric capacity management and cost control
• DP‑700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate), or willing to obtain
• Experience re‑implementing logic from another SQL dialect (we're migrating from Exasol)
• DevOps practices: Git‑based CI/CD, testing and version control
