Job description

To expand our enthusiastic Data Strategists team, we are looking for an experienced Fabric data engineer.

What can you expect?

As a Fabric Data Engineer at Valid, you know better than anyone how to transform customer data into actionable insights using the Microsoft Fabric data platform. Our clients are primarily located in the southern Netherlands. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and maintenance of Fabric data platforms for our clients. Do you have experience setting up these data platforms that manage and secure the flow of structured and unstructured data from multiple sources? Then this position is perfect for you.

In this role, you will be engaged in:
  • The design and architecture of Fabric data platforms tailored to the client’s specific needs and environment;
  • Setting up Azure cloud infrastructures on which those data platforms will run;
  • Retrieve, transform, validate and cleanse data to meet functional and non-functional business requirements;
  • Participate in and develop data marts with business rules and reporting solutions;
  • Help develop reports based on this data;
  • Develop a reusable, maintainable and scalable solution to data issues.

With our team, we build BI solutions and design and build complete data platforms. We do this for various clients so that they get optimal insight into their data. For this we use techniques such as Fabric, Synapse, Databricks, Data Factory and Power BI. The projects you work on are always based on (the latest) Microsoft technologies. We attach great value to technological development and always keep up with the latest techniques and methods.

Your team

That's the Data Strategists business unit, an enthusiastic team specializing in data management and governance, data platforms and architectures, data analytics, visualization and AI. What THRIVED us? The passion to extract value from data. Does this appeal to you too? If so, we'd love for you to join our team. You will often work with other colleagues on projects. This way we learn from each other and have fun at work. We find contact and involvement important, so we get together regularly as a team for a meeting, drinks or games night.

What can you expect from us?
  • A gross monthly salary between €4,000 and €6,000, depending on your knowledge and experience;
  • Lease car, laptop and other items that will allow you to perform your job optimally anywhere;
  • Choice to work 32, 36 or 40 hours per week;
  • Hybrid workplace: home, client and/or our own office;
  • An interesting bonus scheme, where you have ownership of the bonus percentage;
  • We focus on your personal development through monthly meetings with your manager, the use of competence and talent management methods and concrete tools;
  • A training budget to attend training and courses;
  • Varied work, for multiple clients with different technical solutions;
  • Teamwork and shared passion. Together, we make a difference through the integration of technology, people and business.

Valid seriously invests in my growth by setting concrete development goals with my manager and working on them structurally.

What we expect from you:
  • You have at least 5 years of work experience as a data engineer;
  • At least one year of hands‑on experience with Fabric;
  • You have a completed college or university education;
  • You are fluent in SQL;
  • You also have experience with the rest of the Microsoft Azure Data stack;
  • Experience with one or more of the following is a plus: Data Factory, Synapse, SSIS/SSAS/SSRS, Power BI, Databricks, Snowflake, DBT, Python;
  • You have experience with (relational) databases, data modeling, data visualization, data warehouses, metadata and ETL;
  • You are familiar with (the basics of) data management and data governance;
  • You are helpful, collegial, customer‑oriented, actively engaged in your own development and have strong opinions about your field.
