Job summary

PostNL zoekt een Data Engineer voor IT for IT om data-producten te bouwen die inzichten leveren, dashboards mogelijk maken en algoritmen ondersteunen. Je werkt in Den Haag met een hybride werkomgeving en hebt ruimte voor persoonlijke ontwikkeling.

Je sluit aan bij het centrale data-team en werkt aan ELT/ETL-pijplijnen, data-modellen en de overgang naar dbt en Databricks. Je rapporteert aan Data Foundation en draagt bij aan kwaliteitsdata en samenwerking.

Qualifications

• Minimaal HBO/WO-diploma in data engineering of een gelijkwaardige opleiding.
• Minimaal 5+ jaar ervaring als Data Engineer of vergelijkbare rol.
• Sterke SQL-vaardigheden en ervaring met het ontwerpen van herbruikbare datastructuren.

Responsibilities

• Ontwerpen, bouwen en onderhouden van data-products die rapportage en analyses mogelijk maken.
• Neem ownership over end-to-end datapijplijnen en governance in samenwerking met teamgenoten.
• Werk mee aan transitie naar dbt en Databricks en zorg voor betrouwbare data in productie.

As a Data Engineer - IT for IT, you create the data products that power insights, dashboards and algorithms across our IT for IT domain. You build a new data capability, work with Databricks and dbt, and make a visible impact every day within the largest e-commerce operations of the Netherlands.

Dit is jouw rol

As a Data Engineer, you will initially join the central data team within the Data Foundation department. Together with experienced data professionals, you will design, build and maintain the data products that support the IT for IT domain. You take ownership of data from ingestion to delivery and make sure it is reliable, reusable and ready for reporting, analytics and innovation.

As the IT for IT data capability grows, you will become part of a dedicated domain team. You will work closely with the central data platform team to align on standards, governance and architecture. At the same time, you will help shape a new data engineering capability for the domain. You will build ELT and ETL pipelines, develop scalable data models and contribute to the ongoing transition towards dbt and Databricks.

• Salary between €4.588 and €6.498 (scale 11) gross per month at 37 hours per week. But 32 hours is possible too!
• Hybrid working is encouraged and you’ll have flexible working hours. Employees who work from home more than two days a week get an allowance of €45 net per month.
• 8% vacation pay and 25 vacation days on a full-time contract.
• Travel allowance for commuting from 6 km each way up to a maximum of 70 km each way, or an NS Business Card for business travel and commuting.

You also have the following qualities:

• You have a higher vocational or university degree relevant to data engineering.
• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• You have strong SQL skills and experience designing reusable data products using dimensional modelling principles.
• You have hands-on experience with dbt and/or Databricks and building ELT/ETL pipelines in production environments.
• You have experience with cloud platforms, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code, preferably within AWS environments.
