Job summary

Booking.com’s Central Tech team seeks a Data Engineer II to build and evolve the next-generation BI and AI analytics platform. You will work across semantic and agentic layers to enable scalable, governed analytical experiences using Snowflake Intelligence, semantic views, Cortex agents, and ThoughtSpot.

You will collaborate with data engineers and analytics teams to ensure robust data pipelines, governance, and high-performance analytics. 4–6+ years in relevant roles are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• 4–6+ years of experience in data platform engineering, analytics engineering, or BI platform roles.
• Proficient in SQL and Python.
• Experience with Snowflake, dbt, ThoughtSpot/Tableau or similar BI tools.
• Strong understanding of semantic modeling, data governance, and BI consumption patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the Semantic Layer foundation using Snowflake Semantic Views and dbt.
• Contribute to AI-powered analytics capabilities with Snowflake Intelligence and Cortex/Insight Agents.
• Build scalable, governed data models serving as a single source of truth for analytics and BI.
• Define and enforce data governance standards, metrics, data contracts, and access controls.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, SRE, and Security to deliver secure, scalable platform solutions.
