Job summary

Datacation is seeking a Data Engineer to take ownership of data pipelines and cloud projects in Amsterdam. You will design scalable architectures, work with a modern data stack, and collaborate closely with senior engineers and clients.

The role emphasizes production-grade pipelines (batch and streaming) in Azure, Docker-based CI/CD, and active knowledge sharing within a close-knit team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years proven experience in data engineering, cloud technologies and production-grade data pipelines.
• Strong Python proficiency with PySpark, Pandas or NumPy.
• Solid SQL skills and data modeling experience.
• Experience with Azure data tools such as Databricks, Data Lake, Data Factory or Synapse.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, Docker and serverless technologies.
• MSc or BSc in a relevant field.
• Excellent command of Dutch (spoken and written).
• Proactive mindset: identify opportunities, take initiative and make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Translate business challenges into scalable, data-driven solutions.
• Independently build, optimize, and maintain data pipelines (batch and streaming) in Azure.
• Work with modern data stack: Azure Databricks, PySpark, Data Factory, Data Lake, and orchestration tools.
• Design and implement Data Lake structures (bronze/silver/gold).
• Apply containerization with Docker and set up CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions).
• Communicate progress and decisions with clients; present results to stakeholders.
• Share knowledge and collaborate with senior data engineers and consultants.
• Present solutions and results to clients and attend events to grow network.
