Job summary

Corecom Consulting is seeking two Data Engineers to join a large-scale customer data environment in the Netherlands. You will build and improve data products used across the organisation, focusing on customer classification and unified profiles while overseeing data quality and governance.

You’ll collaborate with Data Engineers, Stewards, Product Owners and Software Engineers to raise engineering standards and data practices.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Python.
• Experience building pipelines using dbt.
• Production experience with cloud platforms, ideally GCP.
• Hands-on with BigQuery or Databricks/PySpark.
• Understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and containerisation.
• Experience with data quality — defining rules, tests and investigating failures.
• Strong understanding of data models, databases and data warehouses.
• Comfortable working with stakeholders in ambiguous requirements.

Job description

We’re looking for two Data Engineers to join a large-scale customer data environment and help build and improve data products used across the organisation.

This particular role focuses on customer classification and unified customer profiles, combining hands‑on data engineering with data quality, governance and stakeholder management.

You’ll be working closely with Data Engineers, Data Stewards, Product Owners and Software Engineers to build reliable data products, improve engineering standards and help establish better ways of working across the data landscape.

What you’ll be doing

• Build, improve and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines using SQL and Python
• Work with technologies including BigQuery, dbt and Databricks/PySpark
• Develop production‑grade data solutions across cloud environments in GCP
• Improve processes around coding, testing, reviews and infrastructure
• Help define and implement standards around data quality, data contracts and data engineering
• Review data models, mappings and data contracts to ensure they meet agreed standards
• Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes and work with stakeholders to resolve them
• Support ad‑hoc analytics and data investigations where required
• Present data quality, governance and data product concepts to technical and business stakeholders
• Work closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, Data Stewards and other Data Engineers
• Help promote data product principles and improve data engineering practices across the organisation

What we’re looking for

• Strong hands‑on experience with SQL and Python
• Experience building pipelines using dbt
• Production experience working with cloud platforms, ideally GCP
• Hands‑on experience with BigQuery or Databricks/PySpark - (if you have both that would be a huge plus)
• Understanding of CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code and containerisation
• Experience with data quality - defining rules, writing tests and investigating failures
• Strong understanding of data models, databases, data warehouses and how data flows between systems
• Comfortable working with stakeholders and navigating complex or sometimes ambiguous requirements

Nice to have

• Experience working with customer data, including profiles, purchases and customer interactions
• Experience with customer classification or unified customer profiles
• Knowledge of data governance, metadata management and data cataloguing
• Experience with Data Studio / Looker Studio or Power BI
• Experience using AI effectively to improve development, testing and review processes

The person

This isn't a role for someone who only wants to write code and work in isolation.

You’ll need to be comfortable asking questions, challenging existing processes, working with different stakeholders and helping shape solutions where everything isn’t already defined.

The environment is evolving, so we’re looking for someone who is proactive, pragmatic and comfortable with ambiguity.

If you’re a strong Data Engineer who enjoys combining hands‑on engineering with data quality, governance and stakeholder interaction, this could be a great assignment.

Details:

Duration: 6 months (will extend for at least another 6 months)

Rate: 80 - 90 per hour / 85K-110K Gross
