Job summary

ATC Driving Forward is seeking a Data Center Technician to install and maintain cabling for server and network infrastructure. The role involves travel for on-site support and offers career progression toward supervision or team leadership, with comprehensive training and mentorship.

Responsibilities include cabling installation, testing, and decommissioning, plus client-facing communication. Fixed-term contracts with chances for extension are available.

Qualifications

• Experience installing and troubleshooting structured cabling (copper and fibre).
• Familiarity with network testing tools such as OTDR, VFL, and power meters.
• Class B driving licence with a clean record.

Responsibilities

• Attend customer sites as scheduled, following safety, security, and operational procedures.
• Install, test, troubleshoot, and maintain fibre and copper cabling infrastructure.
• Perform cabling activities in server racks, including patching and cable management.
• Conduct routine inspections of IT, server, and network equipment.
• Install, relocate, disconnect, and decommission network, server, and storage equipment.
• Support infrastructure upgrades, including laying additional fibre and copper cabling.
• Maintain accurate records, complete daily reports, and update stakeholders on work progress.
• Deliver excellent customer service and communicate professionally with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
