Job summary

TGS International Group Amsterdam is hiring Break/Fix Technicians at both junior and lead levels to diagnose, repair and validate enterprise server, storage and networking hardware across live customer environments.

The role involves travel across Europe for deployments and technical training during roughly the first two months, then settling permanently on the Amsterdam site. The salary band is wide to cover junior through lead technicians, so apply accordingly.

Qualifications

• Must have 4+ years supporting enterprise data centres.
• Strong server hardware break/fix experience in live production environments.
• Excellent knowledge of major vendors (Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, Supermicro).
• Solid understanding of RAID, BIOS/UEFI, firmware management and hardware diagnostics.
• Hands-on rack/stack, structured cabling, PDU installation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware faults on enterprise servers, storage platforms and network equipment.
• Replace FRUs including HDD/SSD, DIMMs, CPUs, power supplies, RAID controllers, motherboards, fans, NICs and Fibre Channel/Ethernet adapters.
• Perform hardware diagnostics, POST analysis, BIOS/UEFI configuration, firmware verification and fault isolation.
• Validate repaired systems through functional testing before returning them to production.
• Respond to incidents and service requests within SLAs, following change management in live environments.
• Rack and stack enterprise servers, storage and network equipment; install and terminate structured copper and fibre cabling.
• Install, replace and troubleshoot PDUs; support switch and router deployments.
• Manage onsite spare parts inventory, RMA tracking, asset records and service documentation.
• Act as the onsite technical representative, producing detailed service reports and keeping tickets current.

About the opportunity

Some installation and Smart Hands work comes with the territory, but the heart of the role is restoring customer infrastructure fast through expert hardware troubleshooting against strict SLAs. For roughly the first two months you will travel across Europe supporting deployments and taking technical training, then settle permanently on the Amsterdam site.

What you will be doing

What you will need

• Minimum 4 years supporting enterprise, hyperscale or colocation data centres
• Strong enterprise server hardware break/fix experience in live production environments
• Excellent knowledge of Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Cisco, Supermicro or equivalent platforms
• Solid understanding of RAID, BIOS/UEFI, firmware management and hardware diagnostics
• Hands-on rack and stack, structured copper and fibre cabling, and PDU installation
• Experience in SLA-driven service environments using ITSM/ticketing platforms
• Excellent customer service and communication; fluent English
• Valid passport with unrestricted European travel, and willingness to travel extensively for the first two months
• Flexibility for shift work, on-call and occasional out-of-hours maintenance

• NVIDIA GPU infrastructure or AI/HPC environments
• HP/HPE enterprise server hardware
• CompTIA Server+, ITIL Foundation
• Full driving licence

Working pattern

Days and nights on a 4/4 rotation, 33 hours per week, site-based in Amsterdam. European travel for the first two months.

What is on offer

EUR 35,000 - EUR 65,000 depending on experience, plus a 33% shift allowance, 16% employer pension contribution, GBP 1,500 annual training allowance, 25 days holiday, EUR 8 per day tax-free allowance, 2.6% annual salary increase every July, mileage at 25c per mile, and flights, accommodation and daily subsistence fully covered during business travel. Ongoing technical and vendor training, and clear progression within a growing international data centre services organisation.
