Salute is a global leader in delivering data centre services – with established operations in the US and with a rapidly growing client base across Europe.

Due to an increase in exciting projects across the region – and specifically in Amsterdam – we are looking to recruit and develop a team of ambitious Engineers with electrical experience – and offer them first class training and career development.

The DC NOC engineers are responsible for monitoring critical operations across multiple data centers, reporting deviations, and providing first‑line support with Operation teams. As part of the procedure for tickets and alarms, faults and deviations will be corrected and recorded in a timely and proactive manner. If an incident occurs, the shift engineer will serve as incident commander. These engineers perform physical rounds in the datacenters to ensure that all functionality is functioning as expected.

Your role & responsibilities
  • Monitor and give initial respond to abnormal conditions in facilities systems (including cooling, electricity, availability, and other operational factors) with NOC technicians in coordination with the operation team.
  • Supervise contractors carrying out work within the Data Centre during corrective actions.
  • Be the 1st on site if an incident/event occurs and be able to execute an EOP.
  • Conduct regular inspections and rounds on DC building systems (such as HVAC and electrical distribution), report unusual findings, and correct them.
  • Responding to alarms and incidents, the NOC operator monitors and tracks resolutions in detail in accordance with procedures.
  • Collaborate with operation support teams and act as a bridge with NOC technicians and operation support teams.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis when a system issue affects Data Center operations.
  • Escalate alarms, problems, and incidents according to the escalation matrix.
  • Identify alarms and failures before they occur by taking a proactive approach to analyzing trends.
  • Assure that all MOP steps are followed during maintenance and that all alarms are cleared at the end of maintenance. Monitor several data centers' MOP tasks and responsibilities, as well as operations teams' activities. Act as incident commander during incidents and events.
  • Understand and implement all aspects of the NOC system, including ticketing, alarms, and customer notifications.
What we need from you
  • Availability to work shifts (early lates and nights)
  • Min MBO‑2 and NEN3140 + 1–2 years of experience in a technical function
  • Safety for Operational Supervisors (Dutch: “Veiligheid gezondheid milieu Checklist Aannemers”. Abbreviation: “VCA”)
  • OSHA10
  • The ability to communicate well both orally and in writing (English is mandatory, Dutch is a plus).
  • Experience with the ticketing system, service‑level agreement, and customer communication
