Job summary

Eligo Recruitment represents an international engineering and design consultancy hiring a Lead Mechanical Engineer to own mechanical work packages across several data centre projects from concept through commissioning.

You will lead design, procurement, cost and risk, quality, and stakeholder communication, with around ten years of mechanical design experience and a solid data centre pedigree. Hybrid working, pension and profit sharing offered, with generous holiday.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Approximately ten years of relevant mechanical design experience.
• Proven data centre design experience in mission critical or high-availability environments.
• Understanding of redundancy, operational constraints and reliability-driven design.
• Strong knowledge of design and construction standards and compliance requirements.
• Experience taking multidisciplinary projects through detailed design.
• Comfort making decisions in an international project environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and documentation: set scope, design and management objectives, deliver complete project documentation.
• Procurement: write technical specifications and tender documentation, pre-qualify contractors, evaluate tenders.
• Cost and risk: support cost estimation and risk assessments for work in live environments.
• Quality: represent the client at factory acceptance tests and through commissioning.
• Communication: keep stakeholders informed on package status.
