Job summary

FedEx Logistics in the Netherlands seeks a DG Agent to inspect, accept, process, and handle dangerous goods shipments in line with IATA and FedEx standards. You will verify documentation, inspect packaging, and ensure compliance across regulatory frameworks.

The role requires MBO-level education, DG certification (or willingness to obtain), and strong Dutch/English communication, with emphasis on safety and accuracy in logistics operations.

Qualifications

  • Secondary vocational education (MBO) level.
  • DG certification (IATA DG Regulations) or willingness to obtain it.
  • Good command of Dutch and English, spoken and written.
  • Accurate, responsible, and safety-conscious.
  • Strong administrative and communication skills.
  • Experience in logistics, air freight, or transportation is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Review and verify documentation related to dangerous goods shipments.
  • Inspect packaging and labeling of DG shipments.
  • Process and register DG shipments in operational systems.
  • Ensure shipments comply with IATA, IMDG, ICAO, and FedEx regulations and procedures.
  • Advise colleagues on dangerous goods handling procedures and requirements.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies, non-compliance issues, and safety risks.
  • Maintain communication with customers, Operations, Customs, and internal departments regarding DG shipments.
  • Prepare and review reports and compliance documentation.
  • Support audits, inspections, and safety investigations.

What you will be doing:
DG Agent (Dangerous Goods Agent) – FedEx

A DG Agent is responsible for the inspection, acceptance, processing, and handling of dangerous goods shipments in compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards, including the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and verify documentation related to dangerous goods shipments.
  • Inspect packaging and labeling of DG shipments.
  • Process and register DG shipments in operational systems.
  • Ensure shipments comply with IATA, IMDG, ICAO, and FedEx regulations and procedures.
  • Advise colleagues on dangerous goods handling procedures and requirements.
  • Identify and correct discrepancies, non-compliance issues, and safety risks.
  • Maintain communication with customers, Operations, Customs, and internal departments regarding DG shipments.
  • Prepare and review reports and compliance documentation.

  • Secondary vocational education (MBO) level of working and thinking.
  • DG certification (IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations) or willingness to obtain it.
  • Good command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
