Job summary

Kraft Heinz in Amsterdam is seeking a proactive Customs Analyst to map and operationalize customs requirements across Europe. You will report to the Customs Associate Manager and drive improvement initiatives within European Customs & Exports (EC&E) while balancing daily compliance with project-based work that opens new markets.

You will maintain SAP/OTM/GTM blueprints, develop SOPs, and collaborate with Logistics, Customer Service, and Finance to support launches and promotions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business or equivalent.
  • 3–4 years of hands-on experience in shipping, transportation, or warehouse/logistics operations; CPG or food industry strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP/TMS/WMS systems (SAP preferred), EDI transactions, carrier portals, and appointment scheduling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of LTL/TL routing, NMFC/freight class, tariffs, accessorial, and parcel shipping; familiarity with temperature-controlled logistics.
  • Excellent knowledge of export/import processes, Incoterms, and shipping documentation.

Responsibilities

  • New market enablement, research and define customs requirements for new trade lanes or territories where we currently lack an active presence.
  • Collaborate with logistics and external brokers to translate regulatory requirements into actionable shipping and customs workflows.
  • Serve as the team's investigator for new regulations, ensuring we stay ahead of potential barriers to entry when entering new regions.
  • Maintain the customs blueprints for new markets in SAP / OTM / GTM, ensuring data integrity for all new import and export activities.
  • Develop SOPs for customs activities in new regions, enabling the team to scale operations quickly once a new lane is active.
  • Track the success of new lane launches, identifying bottlenecks and building on past processes to improve operational set-ups.
  • Maintain accurate shipment data within ERP/TMS/WMS and ensure master data integrity (ship-to, routing, weights/cubes).
  • Ensure compliance with labeling requirements, Incoterms, and import/export regulations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement: standardize SOPs and support network optimization initiatives.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Customer Service, Demand Planning, Sales, Quality, and Finance to support promotions, new product launches, and seasonal surges.
  • Prepare for and support internal, customer, and regulatory audits; maintain accurate records and documentation.

In Brief, You Are Responsible For

Qualifications

Please kindly note that you need to have an EU Working Permit (Orientation Year Visa not included) in order to apply for this position.

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–4 years of hands-on experience in shipping, transportation, or warehouse/logistics operations; CPG or food industry strongly preferred.
  • A solid grasp of European trade dynamics and familiarity with customs. Familiarity with customs regimes (transits, warehousing, Inward Processing, import/export documentation) is a plus
  • Proficiency with ERP/TMS/WMS systems (SAP preferred), EDI transactions, carrier portals, and appointment scheduling tools.
  • Strong knowledge of LTL/TL routing, NMFC/freight class, tariffs, accessorial, and parcel shipping; familiarity with temperature-controlled logistics.
  • Excellent knowledge of export/import processes, Incoterms, and shipping documentation.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with analytics/reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
  • Excellent communication skills, customer focus, and cross-functional collaboration; strong problem-solving and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and drive continuous improvement.
